Weddings
Happily Ever After
Starts at Ole Zim's
We offer a rustic, romantic venue tucked away in the quaint country town of Gibsonburg, Ohio, which is centrally located between Toledo and Sandusky. Our venue holds anywhere from 50-450 guests. One unique aspect of our venue that our brides and grooms love and appreciate is the minimalist feel they experience when they enter the venue. This is done intentionally with the use of neutral tones and simple, but elegant decorations that allow the happy couple to decorate the venue to their own unique style and theme for their big day.
Philosophy
Our philosophy is that our wedding venue can stand on its own with simple elegance or you can transform it to whatever level of extravagance your style will bring to our venue. We want you to make it your own.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can we bring our own alcohol?
Yes, Ole Zim’s does not provide alcohol packages so it is up to the bride and groom to supply whatever alcohol they would like for the event. We do not allow shots, your drink must have a mixer. (People love this because it ends up saving you money on expensive liquor packages and allows for flexibility in your choices).
Can we supply our own bartenders?
No, we carry liability insurance on our bartenders and our venue. It also allows us to make sure guests aren’t being overserved and minors are not being served.
Can we bring outside food to your venue?
No (with a minor exception). No outside food is allowed at our venue, we have a full service kitchen and staff to handle your event. The only exception is you are allowed to bring your own cake/desserts as long as they come from a licensed bakery or store.
What time can we come in to decorate?
You can make arrangements to come in as early as 7:00 am the day of your wedding to decorate. You may also rent the hall (if available) the day before your reception at a discounted rate for your rehearsal and to decorate the day before.
How long do we get for our reception?
Your hall rental allows a five hour block for your reception (ceremony is not included in that time). You can purchase additional hours if you so choose.
What is allowed/not allowed for decorations and party favors?
You may decorate with anything that is free standing. You may not adhere anything to the existing structure or the floor. The following items are not allowed inside the hall, but you may have them outside the hall:
– Confetti of ANY Kind
– Sparklers
– Rice
– Bubbles
– Shot Gunning Beer/Seltzers
Are we responsible for clean up at the end of the night?
Are we allowed to take leftover food at the end of the night?
Our motto is “you paid for it, so you should get it”. We will make sure all of your guests are served and have time for seconds if they choose. After the serving lines are taken down, our staff will pack up leftover food and have it ready for you to take at the end of the night to enjoy. Nothing better than Ole Zim’s food for a late night snack.
Is there anything else we need to know?
